Royal families working in bollywood, When people talk about royal families working in bollywood, we obviously picture Saif and Soha Ali Khan. However, there are some other actors, hailing from royal families, making a mark for themselves in the bollywood and entertainment industry.
Bhagyashree
The “Maine Pyar Kiya” actress hails from the royal family of Sangli, Maharashtra.
Did you know Bhagyashree’s full name is Shrimant Rajkumari Bhagyashree Raje Patwardhan?
Yes, She is the daughter of Vijay Singhrao Madhavrao Patwardhan, the Raja of Sangli, Maharashtra.
Bhagyashree is married to actor-turned-producer Himalaya Dasani and has two children – Abhimanyu and Avantika.
Saif Ali Khan
Late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, aka Tiger Pataudi (Saif’s father,), was the last Nawab of Pataudi, Haryana. The title got abolished by the government of India in 1971.
However, the title ‘Nawab’ was passed on, informally and more so lovingly, to the actor after the passing of his father.
The Pataudi Palace underwent refurbishment and restoration after it was retake possession by Saif in 2014.
Pataudi was established in 1804 by the British East India Company, when Faiz Talab Khan, an Afghan Muslim Pashtun of the Barech tribe,
who was made the first Nawab, aided them in their battle against the Maratha Empire, during the Second Anglo-Maratha War.

The family traces their origin to 16th century India, when their forefathers immigrated from present day Afghanistan to India during the period of the Lodi dynasty.
The 8th Nawab of Pataudi, Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, played cricket for both England and India while his son, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, the last Nawab, captained the Indian cricket team. His son Saif is an actor-producer.

Soha Ali Khan
The youngest daughter of Sharmila Tagore and late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, Soha built up her acting debut with the Bollywood film “Dil Maange More”.
She has acted in Bengali film “Antar Mahal” and in many Hindi films accompanied,, “Rang De Basanti”, “Khoya Khoya Chand”, “Tum Mile”.
Soha got married to actor Kunal Kemmu in January 2015 and gave birth to their daughter in September 2017.
Soha has a book to her credit, ‘The Perils of Being Moderately Famous’, which highlights a collection of humorous legend about her life as a royal princess. It was published in 2017.
Aditi Rao Hydari and Kiran Rao
The Rao sisters also coming from prime royal families of India.
Kiran Rao belongs to the royal family of J Rameshwar Rao who was the Raja of Wanaparthy, Mahbubnagar district, Telangana. The producer-director is married to actor Aamir Khan and has a son Azad.
Aditi Rao belongs to not one but two royal lineages. She is the great granddaughter of Akbar Hydari and the grand niece of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari, former Governor of Assam.
Her maternal grandfather Raja J Rameshwar Rao was the erstwhile Raja of Wanaparthy family, who headed the administration of Wanaparthi state during its day.
Aditi will be seen in Telugu film “V”, “The Girl On The Train” and Tamil film “Tughlaq Durbar”.
Sagarika Ghatge
Ghatge was born to Vijaysinh Ghatge, and Urmila Ghatge in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, where she stayed till the age of eight.
She then shifted to Ajmer, Rajasthan to attend Mayo College Girls School.
She is related to a former royal house of India through Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur.
Her father is from the former royal family of Kagal and her grandmother, Sita Raje Ghatge, is the daughter of Tukojirao Holkar III of Indore.
She has also played hockey on national level.
Sagarika has married former Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan and will be seen in the upcoming film “Monsoon Football”.
Sonal Chauhan
The “Jannat” actress belongs to the conservative and traditional royal Rajput family from Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh.
She will be seen in a Telugu film “NBK 105”.
Raima and Riya Sen
The Sen sisters, daughters of the famous Indian actress Moon Moon Sen, and granddaughters of the legendary Bengali actress Suchitra Sen,
have been in the entertainment industry since more than a decade.
While their maternal family made themselves an indispensable part of the Bengali film industry, the paternal side was the royal family of Tripura.
